Adding
Captions
Adding
captions to a VideoWave production is similar
to Adding
Text to a Color Panel.
Select
the panel in which you want to place text
and click on Add Text Effect
in the Add Content Pane.
Click
on a text effect from the list and click
OK.
Click
Insert on internal text track of
selected panel and click OK.
To
ensure that the caption is still readable
when viewed on a TV, click on that Show/Hide
TV Safe Zone icon to enable the
TV Overscan Guide and then
adjust the text to keep it contained within
the safe area.
Customize
the text using the text editing tools in
the Text Settings Panel.
If the Text Settings Panel
is not viewable in the docking area, click
on it in the Task Pane.
Highlight
the text to select it and click on the Main
tab in the Text
Setting Panel. Make style changes
here.
Click
the Color tab in the Text
Settings Panel. Reselect the text
if necessary and choose a color for it:
Click on the typeface color picker and choose
a preset color, or click on the More
Colors button to create a custom
color, or pick a color from your image.
To do that, click on the color dropper
and then on a color in your image. Add an
Outline or Shadow.
To add a background to the text, click on
the Frame tab and choose
one of the shapes ~ rectangle, rounded rectangle,
or ellipse. Choose a fill color,
gradient, or image
to fill the Frame. Add Transparency
to allow the frame to blend into your image
or color panel. You can add horizontal and
vertical Padding to add
more space between the frame's border and
the text.
To
finish it off, add a curve and a bevel,
if desired.
Save
your caption by creating a new Style
based on these settings. Click on the Main
tab and next to Style,
click New and give it a
name. Check to retain either or both the
font and frame styles.
Once
you have created the new style, VideoWave
saves it for reuse whenever you need it.
To use the same style again, click on the
drop-down menu next to Style and click on
the Style's name.
