Adding Images to a VideoWave Production

Once the video has loaded, press the Play button to begin.

Adding Images

In Storyline View, click on the Media Selector tab in the Docking Area to view your images. If the Media Selector is not viewable in the Docking Area, click on it in the Task Pane and dock it by clicking on the drop-down arrow in its upper right-hand corner.

VideoWave categorizes files in three ways: My Media, My Albums, and My Folders. If you have already gathered all of your images for the production into one folder on your Desktop, you can click on the Media Selector's folder, click on the small down arrow next to "Desktop" and double click on your prepared folder. If your files are located elsewhere on your hard drive, you can navigate to them from here. Alternately, you can click on Add Photos/Video in the Add Content panel of the Task Pane and navigate to them from there.

Once the appropriate folder is open in Media Selector, any files that contain Media extensions that VideoWave accepts will be available in the Media Selector panel in their respective folders.

Scroll to view all of the folders and files and double-click on the images folder, if you have previously set one up.

You can add images to your production in any order, and also rearrange them later.

Click and drag an image into the first panel on the storyboard. Once you have added an item, it is a good time to name and save the production.

Click on File > Save As and navigate to the Folder containing the rest of the files for this production. In the Save Production As dialog box, click on the folder's icon and double click on your production's folder to open it.

Type in a relevant file name. The dmsm file extension saves the production in VideoWave's native file format. Productions can be output to other formats from within VideoWave, but save in the dmsm format so that you can continue working on it. (You can also add this file type to a MyDVD project.)

Now, back in VideoWave, your initial image in Panel 1 of the Storyline should be viewable in the Preview Window. If you need to make any last-minute adjustments to your image, double click on the image in the panel to open the "light version" image editor. Here you can autofix, crop, rotate, zoom, correct red-eye, brightness and contrast, and adjust saturation levels. For more information on each of them, click the question mark icon to access the image editor's Help file.

Continue to add images to the production by clicking and dragging, so that each one occupies a panel on the Storyline. Alternately, click one image and then shift-click on another to add multiple adjacent images. Ctrl-click individual files to add more than one non-adjacent image at once.

Once they are all highlighted, drag and drop them into the Storyline. You can reorder them within the Storyline also by dragging and dropping, or by cutting and pasting. If you make a mistake, you can undo by clicking on Edit > Undo.

Save the production by clicking File > Save.
