Adding
Pan and Zoom Manual Effects
VideoWave
makes it easy to control Pan and Zoom effects.
The Manual option in EMC's Pan and Zoom
Editor (Custom option in Creator 2009) lets
you determine the exact start and end of
your pan and zoom effects. To create a manual
pan and zoom effect, right-click on image
and point to Edit, and
click on Pan and Zoom Editor.
In the Pan and Zoom Editor, click the button
next to Manual. (In Creator
2009, click the button next to
Preset and then on the
Custom setting in the drop
down menu.) Notice the Red Box surrounding
both the Starting preview image and the
Ending Preview image.
Use
the sliders or the Plus (+) and Minus (-)
buttons (In Creator 2009 use the Red Box
corner handles to drag it to the desired
size) to indicate the amount of image to
be displayed at the start of your effect.
Click on the red box and drag it into positions
for the Start and Finish.
Click
the green Play arrow to
preview the effect and re-adjust the red
boxes if needed.
Pan
and Zoom is also a quick way to eliminate
the black bars that result around some of
the images in a production. Try using the
red box to effectively crop out black bars.
It doesn't work for 100% of images but for
most landscape-oriented images, it will
do a good job.
Remember
that the more you zoom in to crop, the more
resolution you lose. Usually, though, you
can get a good balance between cropping
and motion and still retain decent quality.
Click OK to save the effect
and return to the main VideoWave window.
